We Are Hiring!

We are currently looking for skilled, experienced, carpenters and apprentices.

Burchat Homes office is located in Barry’s Bay, and our projects are in the surrounding area. We specialize in custom lakeside construction and are looking to grow our team, to keep up with the high demand for our services.

Positions are year-round, permanent full-time.

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

Must have experience in residential construction
Must have a valid drivers licence
Be able to arrive on-site, or at the office on time every day
Must be available to work Monday to Friday 7am – 5pm.
Must have a tool belt, and personal hand tools
Must have personal protective equipment
Must be able to work individually or as part of a team
Must be able to safely use power tools and other equipment
Must be able to comfortably work in a fast-paced working environment.
Must maintain good work ethic and attitude
Working at heights, and another training is an asset.

We are not currently hiring labourers or summer students.

We purchased a cottage built in the 70’s that we wanted to renovate, update and use full time in our retirement. We met with Jeff and discussed our vision. It was clear to us we wanted to work with him on this project. The project started on time and as we progressed the renovation quickly turned into a rehabilitation. The building had structural deficiencies and deterioration for various reasons. Jeff walked us through the issues and collaborated with us to discuss options and budget implications. All work was done as promised with the highest quality and to code. Jeff created the vision we had for our open concept cottage, and gave us the peace of mind that we needed now knowing that we live in a safe and beautiful home that will last for decades. Jeff and the entire team were professional, caring, friendly, and always kept the work site clean and organised. We highly recommend Burchat Homes for all your renovation and construction plans.

Working with Jeff and his team was an absolute pleasure. They were able to turn my vision into reality with the attention to detail that is now the wow factor when you walk in the front door.

Our house was built in the midst of the pandemic. Jeff faced a host of problems such as delays with permits, errors by suppliers, delays on windows, doors, drywall and in general, shortages of material and labour. Throughout, he remained good humoured and on an even keel, as did his workers. Particularly well done was the tiling, both vertical and horizontal and the installation of the hardwood flooring. I am physically challenged, and deeply appreciate the many small acts of kindness shown to me by Jeff and his crew.
